LONG ISLAND SOCCER INTERLEAGUE PROGRAM

 


1-    Two (2) 35 minutes halves (running clock) for 7th grade and up.
        Two (2) 30 minutes halves for the 5th & 6th grade.
        Two (2) 25 minutes halves for the 4th grade and younger

2-     Size 5 ball to be used for the 7th grade and older
        Size 4 ball to be used for the 6th grade and younger

3-     Home team supplies two (2) referees (whenever possible). Must not be the same age as players, recommend referees
        should  be at least three years older. Also supplies the game ball.

4-    Each team must supply a linesperson, especially when there is only one referee.

5-    Injuries; Any hurt player that is down with an injury; in which the referee must stop the game, that injured player must come off.
       The injured player can come back to play on the next dead ball. The clock does not stop. Restart with a drop ball.

6-    Substitutions- on any dead ball by either team, with referees permission. This is to allow each child to play 1/2 a game.

7-    All players must wear shinguards. Shinguards must be covered with socks. This is an insurance requirement.

8-     Uniform shirt should be numbered (for player identification).

9-     Goalie helmets and soccer shoes are optional.

10-    No player may play while wearing any type of cast, even if covered. Players may not wear jewelry during the game, not even
          earrings with tape on them. Insurance requirement.

11-    There is a five (5) goal rule being enforced. NO STANDINGS

NOTE: Violations will be reported to both clubs and coordinators & the league coordinator. Team could be suspended
               indefinitely.

12-    Teams play matched (even up) at all times. Exception, a player is red carded and there are no substitutes.

13-    A RED CARD is an automatic TWO game (2) Suspension the next two games. NOTE: while the game is still on, the carded
          player can be substituted. Also the referee must file a report to both the interleague coordinator and the home club director of
         referees. The team playing the red carded player next must be called and told about this player by both teams.

        13A- FIGHTING: (PLAYERS ) AUTOMATIC SUSPENDED FROM THE PROGRAM.

        13B- FIGHTING: (ANY ADULT) AUTOMATIC WHOLE TEAM SUSPENDED FROM THE PROGRAM.
