What is "Street Soccer"? The concept of street soccer is to allow youth soccer players the freedom to play the game at the most basic simple form…. Just for FUN! It allows interested players the opportunity to participate in soccer without many of the burdens and responsibilities associated with Travel teams. All games are played locally in Kings Park or at neighboring town fields if combined participation with other local soccer clubs. The league provides practice one night each week with a trainer so that the players receive basic ball control and game skills training. There will be one game played each weekend of the season. The game on the weekend will divide the players into teams and play a full 50 minute game. This will be an 8v8 format and everyone gets to play. Referees are provided for the games.
The Street Soccer Program was originally developed a few seasons ago for a group of players in our current 2005/2008 age group. This program is flexible, with player ages chosen such that they can play safe and have fun. This program is open to both boys and girls (boys and girls train and play separately). Younger age groups may be considered if enough participation interest exists.
