PRESIDENT’S WEEK
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15 THROUGH FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2010

Dear Coach,

Thank you for participating in the Long Island Winter Classic during President’s Week. Thanks to you, the Long Island Winter Classic is the largest President’s Week Tournament on Long Island.

While you have been preparing your team for this competition, we have been aligning divisions and creating schedules. However, there is some required paperwork that will need to be completed and presented at registration at least 30 minutes prior to your first scheduled match.

All the necessary forms are available on the Long Island Winter Classic Web Page located at www.kpsc.org/wtournament. Please also take time to review the rules for the division you are participating in. Please note that the facility does not allow CLEATS on the turf fields.

You will need to complete the Team Roster along with Medical Release forms for each player participating in the tournament. Any guest players will require a guest player form. There is one for guest travel players and one for guest intramural players. Guest player forms tell us that the player’s coach and club has agreed that this player may play with your team in the tournament and tells us that they are duly registered and insured. In addition, you must provide proof of age for each player. This can be either a player pass or a birth certificate.

We know some of you may not have your player passes back yet or your team may be an intramural team. Don’t worry; a signature from your club registrar or club president at the bottom of the team roster form will be sufficient to prove that your players are duly registered and insured.

Next, schedules are now available on the tournament web site. You will see who you are playing and when each match is. Please be sure to check in at the registration desk at least 30 minutes prior to your first match. If your particular schedule is not yet posted, please refer to the Age Group Assignments grid on the tournament page for your approximate session, then check back at a later time for your schedule. This is a patch exchange tournament for the U7, U8 and U9 age groups.

ANY CANCELATION DECISIONS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF “KK Athletics - Brentwood".  AS SOON AS THE KINGS PARK SOCCER CLUB HAS BEEN NOTIFIED BY THE FACILITY OF A CANCELATION, A MESSAGE WILL BE PLACED ON OUR ANSWERING SYSTEM.  ADDITIONALLY, AN EMAIL WILL BE SENT OUT TO ALL TEAMS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  THE CANCELATION INFORMATION WILL ALSO BE POSTED ON OUR TOURNAMENT WEBSITE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
IF YOU DO NOT HEAR A CANCELATION ANNOUNCEMENT WHEN YOU CALL, THEN THE GAMES ARE ON!  TEAMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE IN TIME FOR THEIR SCHEDULED GAMES CANNOT BE GIVEN A REFUND.

 In the event a division is canceled, the team coach/manager will be contacted and advised of refund arrangements or reschedule opportunity (if available).

- From the East Via LIE 495:
Long Island Expressway to EXIT 56 toward RT-111/ ISLIP/SMITHTOWN, turn left onto NY-111 S/WHEELER RD, turn slight right onto JOSHUAS PATH/NY-111 continue to follow NY-111 S. Turn right onto ALKIER ST. Turn left onto GIBSON AVE. turn right onto 2ND AVE. KK ATHELTICS (181 2ND AVE) is on the right.

- From the West Via 495:
Long Island Expressway to EXIT 55 toward CR-67/MOTOR PKWY/CENTRAL ISLIP. Turn right onto LONG ISLAND MOTOR PKWY/CR-67. Turn slight right onto CALEBS PATH. Turn right onto NY-111 S/JOSHUAS PATH. Continue to follow NY-111 S. Turn right onto ALKIER ST. Turn left onto GIBSON AVE. turn right onto 2ND AVE. KK ATHELTICS (181 2ND AVE) is on the right.

- From the West Via Southern State:
Souther State Pkwy to EXIT 41A  SAGTIKOS PKWY North toward SUNKEN MEADOW PARK. Take the PINE AIR DR. exit, EXIT S3 toward DEER PARK/BRENTWOOD. Take the ramp toward BRENTWOOD. Turn slight right onto PINE AIR DR. PINE AIR DR becomes 3RD AVE. Turn left onto 1ST. 1ST. becomes 2nd Ave. KK ATHELTICS (181 2ND AVE) is on the left.

-  From the East Via Southern State:
Southern State Pkwy to EXIT 43 North towards Hauppauge. Turn right onto NY-111/ISLIP AVE. Turn left onto EHLER ST. Turn left onto GRAND BLVD. Turn right onto PIONEER ST. Turn Right onto GIBSON AVE. Turn left onto 2ND AVE. KK ATHELTICS (181 2ND AVE) is on the right.

Lastly, we want everyone to be safe and to enjoy the day with us. We ask that parents keep an eye on young children and that everyone cheer for the great soccer they will watch while the children play and the referees officiate.
